Congratulations to BSc (Hons) Computer Games Technology graduate Thomas Cole, who has been awarded a prestigious TIGA Graduate of the Year accolade in the category Computer Games Technology.

Thomas was one of 77 graduates recognised by TIGA, which is the trade association representing the UK’s video games industry.

Each of the students was nominated by their respective university or college for the award ‘TIGA Graduate of the Year’, ‘TIGA Post-Graduate of the Year’ or ‘TIGA BTEC Learner of the Year’. Judges from the TIGA Education Committee reviewed the submissions and evidence of the students’ work. The Committee then awarded each student the accolade of ‘TIGA Graduate of the Year’, ‘TIGA Post-Graduate of the Year’ or ‘TIGA BTEC Learner of the Year’ in recognition of their excellent work. Seven students received two or more accolades in different disciplines.

Dr Richard Wilson OBE, TIGA CEO, said: “TIGA aims to promote and salute excellence in education. TIGA is delighted therefore to award 77 splendid students the accolade of TIGA Graduate of the Year, TIGA Post-Graduate of the Year and TIGA BTEC Learner of the Year. Each graduate and learner has demonstrated excellent work and has the potential for a successful career in the video games industry. Congratulations to all of our TIGA Graduates, Post-Graduates and BTEC Learners.

“TIGA would also like to commend all of our TIGA accredited courses for delivering excellence in education and nominating such talented students for these TIGA accolades.”
