Music graduate set to release debut EP

Singer-songwriter and MA Music graduate Rachel Jack, who was winner of the inaugural Paolo Nutini Songwriting Scholarship, will release her debut EP in July 2020.

Rachel’s debut EP ‘The Calgary Tapes’ details her tumultuous journey into the world of music. Rachel wrote a reflective blog in 2019, as research for her year-end project. She wrote and recorded 13 songs based on her blogs, 5 of which went on to become ‘The Calgary Tapes’.

The Paolo Nutini scholarship for budding songwriters is open to applications. The scholarship will provide a promising songwriter with the funding of £5,500 towards tuition fees.

Paolo, an honorary doctor of UWS and Paisley native, established the scholarship to give the next generation of songwriting talent the opportunity to take their work to the next level.
